Paraic playing banjo

ABOUT

"A banjo album that is refreshingly different and entirely well done."

"A banjo album that is refreshingly different and entirely well done"

Páraic Mac Donnchadha has played tenor banjo for almost forty years and now shares his wealth of experience, insight and musical pedigree on this breakthrough album.

Known more as a Session player than as a Stage performer, he surrounds himself with players with a similar musicality. There is always a wonderful rhythm and pulse that is hypnotically engaging.

Message from Páraic

"Unplanned but unconstrained... almost all of the music on the album was recorded live over a January weekend in Pepper's Pub in Feakle, Co. Clare. Almost none of it was planned beyond a vague aspiration. All of it does come from the heart, though. What you're getting here is a mix of my favourite, foot-tapping 'session rollickers' as well as some classic, contemplative compositions by some favourite East Galway composers, played with my most favourite people in the world to play with! I do hope you will hear echoes of the music of those who so generously encouraged me on my musical journey and I hope you'll enjoy what's here for years to come." - Páraic
